The clinician and writer in me struggled to find the right words to document after a session I had today with a client as well as something I needed to write for my business.  I thought the best course of action to get me out of my rut was to go for a walk.  Alone with my thoughts I was aware of my surroundings.  The pace of the day slowed.  Shadows danced through trees.  A dog stopped to greet me.  And then my spiritual side realized I am not ever truly alone for I heard his voice say to me, “Life moves pretty fast.  If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”  Ferris Bueller, the first mindfulness teacher our generation has ever known.  I am refreshed now, but I also have a strong desire to drive a red sports car really fast.
